- Asian Handicap
- A handicap given to a team to level the match, often expressed in fractions or quarters to remove draws.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money set aside for placing bets.
- Bet Slip
- The digital record that lists the selections, odds, and stake for a wager.
- Cash Out
- A feature allowing you to settle a bet before all events have concluded, either securing a profit or limiting a loss.
- Closing Line
- The final odds offered just before an event starts; used to measure betting value.
- Decimal Odds
- A way to express odds as a single number (e.g., 2.50) that includes the stake in the total return.
- Double Chance
- A bet that covers two of the three possible outcomes of a match (e.g., win/draw, draw/win).
- Each-Way
- A two-part bet where half the stake is on the win and half on the finishing place, commonly used in outright markets.
- Expected Value (EV)
- The calculated average profit or loss per bet if it were repeated many times.
- First Goalscorer
- A market where you predict which player will score the first goal in a match.
- Free Bet
- A promotional token credited to your account that can be used to place a bet without using your own funds.
- Half-Time/Full-Time
- A bet that requires predicting both the result at half‑time and the final result of the match.
- In Play
- Betting that takes place after an event has started, with odds that update in real time.
- Juice (Vig)
- The commission or fee that a bookmaker adds to the odds, typically reflected in the total cost of a bet.
- Lay Bet
- A bet that a particular outcome will not happen, common on betting exchanges where you act as the bookmaker.
- Line Movement
- The change in odds or point spreads from the time they are posted until the event starts.
- Moneyline
- A straightforward bet on which side will win a match, with odds expressed as a positive or negative number.
- Over/Under
- A wager on whether a specific statistic (such as total goals) will be higher or lower than a set number.
- Parlay
- A single bet that links two or more outcomes; all must win for the bet to pay out.
- Push
- A tie outcome in a bet where the stake is refunded because the result matches the exact line.
- Responsible Gambling
- Practices and tools designed to help players stay in control and avoid harmful gambling behavior.
- Rollover Requirement
- A condition that states how many times a bonus or deposit must be wagered before it can be withdrawn.
- Spread
- The points added to or subtracted from a team’s score to create a balanced betting market.
- Steam
- Rapid, significant line movement caused by heavy betting action from sharp or large wagers.
- Value Bet
- A bet where the odds offered are higher than the true probability of the outcome, indicating a positive expected value.
